Opportunities Portfolio
I started a stock tracking portfolio on this site in the Fall of 2007. Stocks were tracked on a quarterly basis with no consideration of trading or position sizes. Starting with the 2nd quarter of 2008 I split the portfolio into a pair: An Income Portfolio populated with high yield stocks and an Opportunities Portfolio with a mix of growth, value and international stocks. Portfolio tracking remained static with no position changes during the quarter.
Starting with the 3rd quarter of 2008 I converted my Income Portfolio to an actively managed system at Stockalicious. This system allow me to buy and sell, carry a cash position and account for commissions. Instead of quarter by quarter results, these portfolios will not be managed for ongoing returns from the date of inception.
This new and improved Opportunities Portfolio started operation October 1, 2008, populated with stocks at the closing price on Sept. 30, 2008. Starting value: $40,000. The portfolio is hypothetical and for informational purposes only.
